The TV Round-Up: Development Edition

The fall TV season hasn’t even begun yet, and the networks are already plotting their next moves. See what’s in development for next season and beyond:

“Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman is adapting “The Nanny Diaries” for ABC. Assume that she’s adapting the bestselling book, not the box office disappointment starring Scarlett Johansson. [TVGuide]

Likewise, ABC is interested in adapting the recent and well-received “The Lincoln Lawyer” for a series. Matthew McConaughey fans, don’t hold your breath on him reprising his role. [The AV Club]

20th Century Fox has signed “Scrubs” star Sarah Chalke for a development deal, in which the production company will try to create a vehicle for her to star in. Chalke recently starred in “Mad Love,” which lasted one season on CBS. [Deadline]

NBC is working on adapting a modern-day version of Frankenstein for television. [The Hollywood Reporter]
