The TV Casting Scoop

With so many new and returning shows coming this fall, there have been a lot of new characters being added. Here are some of the big casting scoops:

First A Musical, Now A Dance Number? “Fame”‘s Debbie Allen will guest star on “Grey’s Anatomy” as Jackson’s mother, and will direct her 4th episode of the series as well.

New Horizons: Andre Braugher (“Men of A Certain Age”) is coming to “Law & Order: SVU” and may get involved with Det. Benson.

“Castle” Fans May Hope For A Murder: “The Killing” star Kristin Lehman will appear on “Castle” as a love interest for the titular character.

Smooth Operator: Jay Mohr is joining “Prime Suspect” in a recurring role as a skeevy assistant district attorney.

Reunited and It Feels So Good: “Hawaii Five-0” will reunite Masi Oka with his former “Heroes” co-star Greg Grunberg.

Reunited and It Feels So Awkward: “Chuck” guest star and “Old Spice” spokesperson Isaiah Mustafa will recur on “Charlie’s Angels” as the ex-fiancee of one of the Angels.

Boy Meets Skeleton? “Boy Meets World”‘s Ben Savage will guest star on “Bones.”


The TV Round-Up

Wisteria Lane no more: “Desperate Housewives” will end next May. [TVLine]

Conflicting reports over the end of “Eureka” have some questioning whether the show may live on with a spin-off. [AOL TV]

Charlie Sheen’s character Charlie Harper will be killed off “Two and a Half Men” and we’ve got the pictures to prove it. [The Hollywood Reporter]

“Bones” hires new squintern to replace the one they lost. RIP Vincent Nigel-Murray! [TVGuide]

“Sex and the City” creator Michael Patrick King recently denied prequel movie in the works, which is true. Instead, it seems HBO is developing a TV series instead, although not necessarily for their network. [LA Times]

In some of the day’s least shocking news, TNT has renewed HUGE ratings performer “Rizzoli & Isles” for a third season. [The Futon Critic]
